Operation Planting Roots
This program is designed to help veterans get settled in their community. We will help veterans move their household items to their new residence, which is crucial for several reasons. First, many veterans may have physical limitations or disabilities because of their service. Secondly, relocating can be emotionally taxing, and providing this support can alleviate some of that stress. Additionally, veterans facing financial difficulties may not have resources to hire professional movers, making relocation assistance essential to ensure a smooth transition into their new home.

This program ensures veterans have furniture for their new residence.
We accept furniture donations to ensure veterans have access to essential items needed to furnish their homes and create a comfortable living environment.

Clothing and Shoe Donations
These bright blue bins, labeled “Clothing & Shoes Only”, are designed to make it simple for our community to donate gently used clothing and footwear. Every item collected helps reduce landfill waste while also supporting our mission to assist veterans facing substance use disorder, PTSD, and homelessness.
Recreational Therapy Assistance
This program provides financial support for recreational assistance for veterans in treatment. This is essential for promoting holistic healing and fostering a sense of camaraderie, helping them to alleviate stress, build social connections, and regain a sense of purpose and joy in their lives.
Coffee and Resources
These events are a platform for local veterans to connect, share experiences, and find support in a community of peers who understand their journey. This helps to promote mental health and resilience. Community resources are available to attendees.
Operation North Pole
This program is designed to help our veterans and their families have a wonderful holiday season. With your help, we support veterans to ensure they enjoy the holiday season.
Vet Cut Program
This program helps further prepare veterans for job interviews and other important events, by offering hair cuts. We are proud to partner with the Butler Beauty Academy to provide this service.

By collaborating with local organizations, Operation Guiding Light ensures veterans receive personalized assistance tailored to their unique needs.
